Platform Engineer

Penta Consulting are a technology service provider and leading outsourced partner helping to deliver professional and managed solutions across EMEA.

We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer with strong experience in Go, Kubernetes, and platform automation to design, develop, and support software that automates Kubernetes-based managed services and SaaS platforms.

Key Responsibilities

Design, build, and maintain Kubernetes Operators, controllers, CRDs, and APIs using Go.
Develop automation for provisioning, upgrades, scaling, recovery, and lifecycle management of platform services.
Build reliable, secure, and scalable Kubernetes-native solutions following industry best practices.
Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines, testing frameworks, and release processes.
Collaborate with Platform Engineering, SRE, Cloud Operations, and Architecture teams to implement platform standards and automation.
Improve observability, reliability, security, and operational efficiency across cloud and on-premises environments.
Mentor engineers and contribute to technical leadership, design reviews, and engineering standards.

Required Skills & Experience

8+ years' experience in Software Engineering, Platform Engineering, DevOps, SRE, or Infrastructure Automation.
Strong hands-on development experience with Go (Golang).
Deep understanding of Kubernetes, including Operators, Controllers, CRDs, RBAC, and Controller Runtime patterns.
Experience supporting production Kubernetes environments.
Strong knowledge of distributed systems, automation, CI/CD, Helm, GitOps, and Infrastructure as Code.
Experience with Linux, containers, networking, storage, and Kubernetes troubleshooting.
Ability to lead technical initiatives and mentor other engineers.

Preferred Skills

Operator SDK, client-go, controller-runtime.
Terraform, Argo CD, Flux, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, Azure DevOps.
EKS, AKS, GKE, Rancher, or other enterprise Kubernetes platforms.
Prometheus, Grafana, Loki, CloudWatch, or Azure Monitor.
Kubernetes security, policy-as-code, service mesh technologies, and reliability engineering practices.
